Lancashire Constabulary has taken a firm stance against dangerous driving, seizing multiple vehicles and reporting drivers for a range of offences, from high-speed chases to expired licenses.
In a recent incident, officers successfully recovered a vehicle that had fled the scene after being driven recklessly, endangering other road users. The vehicle was found abandoned thanks to assistance from vigilant members of the public.
“Enquiries are now ongoing to locate the offending drivers,” stated a police spokesperson, emphasizing their commitment to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
Meanwhile, in Preston, a vehicle was seized after being clocked travelling at a staggering 74mph in a 30mph zone.
The driver now faces multiple charges relating to the extreme speed violation.
“This kind of reckless behaviour will not be tolerated,” a police officer commented, highlighting the potential consequences of such dangerous driving.
Further action was taken on the M55 near Kirkham, where a routine check of a Toyota vehicle revealed serious breaches of the law.
Officers discovered that the vehicle’s MOT had expired in October 2024. Additionally, the driver was found to be operating the vehicle with an expired driving license.
The driver was reported for both offences, and the vehicle was subsequently recovered.
These incidents underscore Lancashire Police’s dedication to ensuring road safety and holding those who break the law accountable.
They continue to urge drivers to adhere to speed limits, maintain valid vehicle documentation, and drive responsibly.
