Darwen Firefighters Tackle Birch Hall Avenue Blaze With Two Casualties Taken To Hospital

Two people were taken to hospital following a domestic fire on Birch Hall Avenue in Darwen on Saturday evening.

At approximately 20:52 GMT, emergency services were alerted to a blaze at a residential property.

Firefighters from Darwen and Blackburn fire stations swiftly responded to the scene, deploying three fire engines to tackle the incident.

Upon arrival, crews found the property engulfed in smoke. Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, entered the building and used one hose reel to extinguish the flames. A ventilation unit was also employed to clear the smoke from the premises.

The North West Ambulance Service attended the scene and provided medical assistance to two casualties.

Both individuals were subsequently transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

Firefighters remained at the property for approximately two hours, ensuring the fire was fully extinguished and the area was safe.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
