Man and Woman Arrested in East Yorkshire After Alleged Bolton Kidnap Attempt

A man and woman are in custody in East Yorkshire following an alleged attempted kidnap in Bolton.

Greater Manchester Police alerted Humberside Police to the incident, which occurred at approximately 11:20 pm on Thursday, March 13th.

Greater Manchester Police contacted Humberside Police at approximately 12:55 am on Friday, March 14th, with information about a vehicle suspected of being involved in the attempted kidnap, potentially within their jurisdiction.

Humberside Police’s Roads Policing Unit was deployed and located a white Peugeot traveling through North Ferriby at around 1:00 am.

The vehicle then stopped at a petrol station on Dunswell Road in Woodmansey.

Officers approached the vehicle and identified a woman matching the description of the individual believed to have been forcibly entered into the car in Bolton.

A 40-year-old man, the driver, and a 19-year-old woman, a passenger, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap.

“Upon approaching the vehicle, officers identified a woman matching the description of the woman who is believed to have been forced into the car, and the driver, a 40-year-old man, and passenger, a 19-year-old woman were subsequently arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap,” a Humberside Police spokesperson confirmed.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the arrested individuals are known to the woman involved.

Both the man and the woman remain in police custody, assisting with ongoing inquiries.

Investigations are continuing between Humberside Police and Greater Manchester Police.
