A Colne resident was subjected to a terrifying ordeal on Valentine’s Day, as a knife-wielding intruder invaded his home, leaving him injured and traumatized.

Lancashire Police are now urgently seeking the public’s assistance to identify the man responsible for this violent aggravated burglary.

The incident occurred on Peel Road at approximately 2:40 pm on February 14th, when a man forced his way into the victim’s property.

He then proceeded to threaten the resident with a knife, before launching a physical assault. The victim suffered injuries that required medical treatment.

Adding to the victim’s distress, the intruder stole several items from the home, including an unloaded air rifle.

The presence of the knife, however, has amplified the severity of the crime, leaving the victim and the local community deeply concerned.

“This was a particularly vicious attack, and the use of a knife makes it even more alarming,” stated a spokesperson for Lancashire Police.

“We are determined to bring the perpetrator to justice and ensure the safety of our community.”

Despite extensive offline enquiries, police have been unable to identify the suspect.

They have released CCTV footage, albeit of limited quality, in the hope that someone will recognize the man depicted.

“We understand the footage isn’t perfect, but even the smallest detail could be vital,” the spokesperson emphasized.

“If you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the Peel Road area on February 14th, or if you recognize the man in the footage, please come forward immediately.”

The police are urging anyone with information, including dashcam or CCTV footage, to contact them.

The focus on the knife highlights the dangerous nature of the crime, and the urgency to find the man who committed it.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lancashire Police on 101, quoting log number 0669 of February 14th.

Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
