Midnight Raid: ATM Theft Attempt in Darwen

Lancashire Police are investigating an attempted burglary at a shop on Priory Drive, Darwen, that occurred late Wednesday night.

Officers were called to the scene at approximately 11:58 pm on March 12th, following reports of an attempted ATM theft.

Witnesses reported seeing three individuals, dressed in dark clothing and wearing face coverings, attempting to remove the ATM from the shop.

The suspects arrived at the scene in a dark blue Range Rover Vogue, travelling along Chancel Way. After their failed attempt to remove the ATM, they quickly fled the scene in the same vehicle.

Lancashire Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are appealing to the public for assistance.

Detectives are currently reviewing available evidence and conducting inquiries to identify and apprehend the suspects.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who has any information that could assist our investigation, to come forward,” a police spokesperson stated.

“We are particularly interested in any CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage that may have captured the suspects or their vehicle.”
