Motorists travelling southbound on the M6 are facing significant delays this afternoon following a stalled vehicle near Junction 31 for the A59 Samlesbury.
The incident, which occurred on the approach to the junction, has caused a lane closure on the exit ramp, leading to heavy traffic congestion.
Highways England and recovery services are currently on scene, working diligently to remove the vehicle and restore normal traffic flow.
“A stalled vehicle is causing delays on the M6 southbound at J31 A59 Preston New Road (Samlesbury),” confirmed a spokesperson from a live traffic monitoring service. “Lane closed on exit ramp and heavy traffic due to stalled vehicle.”
