A woman in her 40s from Morecambe has tragically died following a collision with a car on Regent Road.
Lancashire Police are appealing for witnesses and information.
Officers were called to the scene shortly before 8:30 pm on Tuesday, March 11th, following reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a Vauxhall Astra.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased has been identified as a woman in her 40s from Morecambe. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
The driver of the Vauxhall Astra stopped at the scene and is cooperating with the police investigation.
Lancashire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
They are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have relevant footage, to come forward.
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident and our thoughts are with the woman’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time,” said a spokesperson for Lancashire Police.
“We are now working to establish the full circumstances of the collision and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.”
Police are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have captured the incident on mobile phone, CCTV, Ring doorbell, or dashcam footage.
