Man in 50s Seriously Injured in Ribbleton Assault, Arrest Made

Preston, Lancashire – A man in his 50s is in hospital with serious injuries following an assault in Ribbleton this morning.

Lancashire Police were called to Ribbleton Hall Drive, near Moor Nook School, at approximately 6:15 am on Wednesday, March 12th, following reports of an assault.

Upon arrival, officers found a man believed to be in his 50s suffering from serious injuries. He was immediately taken to hospital for treatment.

In connection with the incident, a man in his 30s from Preston has been arrested and is currently in police custody.

Officers are conducting ongoing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the assault.

They are appealing to the public for any information that may assist their enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any relevant information is urged to contact Lancashire Police on 101, quoting log number 0181 of March 12th.

The police have confirmed that they are treating the incident seriously and are working to establish the full details of what occurred. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.

Road closures remain in place around the scene. A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said earlier:

“We currently have a road closure in place on Ribbleton Hall Drive, Ribbleton. This will extend from Pope Lane, to Mitton Drive.

“This is due to a Police incident and is likely to be closed for some time.”

“Please find alternative routes when travelling and we will update you once the road has reopened.”
