Woman Found Dead in Cottingley, Man Arrested on Suspicion of Murder

A woman has been found dead with serious injuries at a property on Airedale Avenue in Cottingley, Leeds, prompting a murder investigation.

West Yorkshire Police were called to the address at 10:46 AM on Monday, March 11th, following reports of a concern for safety.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the woman, who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.

A police scene remains in place at the address as forensic and investigative work continues.

Officers are conducting thorough enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.

“Police were called at 10.46 this morning (11 March) to reports of a concern for safety at an address on Airedale Avenue, Cottingley,” a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police confirmed.

“A woman was found with serious injuries. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A man aged 45 has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody at this time.

A scene is currently in place whilst enquiries are carried out.”

Residents in the area may notice an increased police presence while investigations are ongoing.
