A shocking video circulating on social media has sparked a police investigation after it captured a brutal assault on a woman in Hyndburn.
The 80-second clip, described as “deeply disturbing” by local MP Sarah Smith, shows a woman being repeatedly attacked on a cobbled street.
The video begins with two females already engaged in a struggle, with one pinned to the ground. The situation escalates rapidly as a third female enters the frame and delivers a vicious kick to the restrained individual.
The victim, attempting to protect herself, is then subjected to repeated stamps before being violently dragged along the cobbled surface by her hair.
The graphic nature of the video has caused widespread outrage, prompting Hyndburn MP Sarah Smith to take immediate action.
“I have been made aware of a deeply disturbing video circulating on social media showing a violent attack,” she stated.
“As soon as I saw it, I contacted the police, and an investigation is now underway. This kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable, and those responsible must face the consequences of their actions.”
Sarah Smith also expressed her concern for the victim, saying,
“I hope the victim knows that the actions of bullies say everything about them and nothing about her. I hope she’s recovering and knows there’s a lot of decent people out there who care about her wellbeing.”
The video has ignited a wave of condemnation online, with many calling for swift justice for the perpetrators.
The community is now waiting for the results of the police investigation, hoping those responsible will be held accountable for this horrific act of violence.
