Lancashire Constabulary is investigating the deaths of three Blackpool residents, all in their 40s, suspected to be linked to drug use, potentially involving contaminated heroin.

The deaths, occurring at separate locations and times between February and March, have prompted a warning to drug users in the area.

The deceased individuals include two men and one woman, all from Blackpool. While investigations are ongoing, a primary line of inquiry focuses on the possibility that the victims ingested contaminated heroin.

However, authorities have emphasized that this remains unconfirmed.

In connection with the investigation, a 31-year-old man from Blackpool was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug.

He has since been released on bail while further inquiries are conducted.

“We are continuing to advise drug users to seek immediate medical attention if they notice any different symptoms or start to feel unwell,” stated a spokesperson for Lancashire Constabulary.

“There is no safe way of taking drugs, and no way of knowing exactly what you are putting into your body and whether it is safe.”

The police are urging drug users to be particularly vigilant and to prioritize their health.

The force is taking a proactive stance against drug-related issues in the region. They are encouraging anyone with information about illegal drug activity to come forward.

“Lancashire Constabulary takes a proactive response into tackling the issue of drugs in the county,” the spokesperson added.

“We would urge people who have information about illegal drug related activity to come forward and contact us on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
