TRAGIC CAR CRASH CLAIMS LIFE OF MAN AND DOG IN WYTHENSHAWE HORROR CRASH

A quiet Sunday afternoon was shattered by a devastating collision that claimed the lives of a man in his 60s and his beloved dog.

The horrific incident occurred at the junction of Hollyhedge Road and Greenwood Drive at approximately 5 pm on March 9, 2025.

Greater Manchester Police responded to reports that a pedestrian and his dog had been struck by a vehicle.

Despite the rapid arrival of emergency services, both the man and his canine companion were pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident involved a black car traveling south on Greenwood Drive. According to police reports, the vehicle collided with another car on the opposing carriageway as it entered the junction before tragically striking the pedestrian and his dog.

A woman in her 40s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. She has since been released on bail pending further investigation.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information that could assist their inquiries.

They are particularly interested in obtaining dashcam footage, ring doorbell footage, or any other relevant details.
