Lancaster police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man following a report of a public sexual act in Scotch Quarry, Wyresdale Road.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 5th, at approximately 4:20 PM. According to reports, a man followed a woman before performing a sexual act in the public area.
Police have released a description of the suspect, who is described as being mixed race, in his early 20s, over 6 feet tall, and of a stocky build. He has very short, black afro-style hair.
At the time of the incident, he was reportedly wearing dark faded jeans, a black jacket, and a blue t-shirt.
Investigators believe the same man may have been sighted earlier that morning, around 6:15 AM, in the Williamsons Park car park on Wyresdale Road.
“We are taking this incident extremely seriously and are conducting a thorough investigation,” stated a spokesperson from Lancashire Police.
“While we have been pursuing numerous lines of enquiry, we are now appealing to the public for any information that may assist us in identifying this individual.”
Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information that could be relevant to the investigation, to come forward.
“Even the smallest detail could be crucial to our investigation,” the spokesperson added.
