Preston commuters faced delays this morning after a road traffic collision forced the closure of New Hall Lane at its junction with Blackpool Road.
Emergency services responded to the incident, which occurred earlier today, and promptly closed the road to ensure the safety of those involved and to facilitate the necessary investigations and cleanup.
A car has overturned outside the Hesketh Arms pub close to the roundabout at the junction of Blackpool Road.
“We can confirm that New Hall Lane is currently closed at the junction of Blackpool Road due to a road traffic collision,” stated a local authority spokesperson.
“We anticipate that the road will be closed for a short amount of time, whilst we make sure the road is safe.”
The exact details of the collision, including the number of vehicles involved and any potential injuries, are yet to be confirmed.
However, authorities have advised motorists to seek alternative routes and allow for extra travel time.
The closure caused significant disruption to traffic flow in the surrounding area, with drivers urged to exercise caution and patience.
