Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Newton Heath Collision

A motorcyclist has sustained serious injuries following a collision with a car on Oldham Road in Newton Heath.

The incident occurred near the junction with Thorp Road at approximately 6:17 pm on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police’s (GMP) Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for witnesses and information to aid their investigation.

The collision involved a car and a motorcycle, resulting in the motorcyclist being rushed to hospital for urgent medical treatment.

The extent of their injuries has been described as serious.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam footage of the collision or the moments leading up to it, to come forward.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the collision or have any information that could assist our enquiries,” said a spokesperson for GMP.

“We are particularly interested in any dashcam footage which may have captured the incident.”
