North Yorkshire Police have identified the 19-year-old man who tragically died in the River Ouse in York on Wednesday morning as Evan Geoffrey d’Andilly from Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire.

Evan was a student at the University of York.

“We ask that their privacy is respected while they grieve the loss of their loved one,” stated North Yorkshire Police.

Law enforcement has confirmed that there are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding Evan’s death.

A report is being compiled for the coroner.
Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses and information.

They are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
