Burnley residents are being advised to avoid Springfield Road this evening following a vehicle fire that has prompted a road closure.
Emergency services, including the fire service and police, are currently on the scene.
The incident occurred on Springfield Road, necessitating its closure from the junctions with Green Street and Emily Street.
Firefighters are actively working to extinguish the vehicle fire, while police officers have implemented a road closure to ensure public safety and facilitate emergency operations.
“Good Evening, we are currently assisting our colleagues from the Fire Service with a road closure on Springfield Road Burnley due to a vehicle fire,” stated a police spokesperson. “As a result the road is closed from the junction with Green Street and Emily Street.
Please avoid the area and we will provide an update when we can.”
The cause of the vehicle fire is currently unknown and will likely be investigated once the fire is extinguished and the scene is made safe.
