A 50-year-old woman has been charged with drink driving after being stopped by police on the M65 while over three times the legal alcohol limit, with a 13-year-old child in the car.
Officers from Lancashire Police stopped a Vauxhall Corsa on the M65 between junctions 5 and 6, near Blackburn, at 11:46 am on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025.
A roadside breath test revealed the driver, Shelley Richardson, of Douglas Way, Burnley, had a reading of 121 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, significantly exceeding the legal limit of 35 micrograms.
Richardson was immediately arrested on suspicion of drink driving. Shockingly, a 13-year-old child was present in the vehicle at the time of the arrest.
