Two Men Charged Following Blackburn Burglary Spree

Two men have been charged in connection with a series of burglaries and attempted burglaries that plagued the Little Harwood and Audley areas of Blackburn in late February and early March.

Lancashire Police confirmed that the charges follow an investigation by the East Burglary Team, prompted by numerous reports of break-ins and attempted break-ins between February 24th and March 2nd, 2025.

On Monday, March 3rd, officers arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of attempted burglary and a 29-year-old man on suspicion of burglary of a dwelling.

Today, Wednesday, March 5th, 2025, police have announced that:

* Ryan Price, 27, of no fixed address, has been charged with three counts of burglary of a dwelling, nine counts of attempted burglary, four counts of theft of a motor vehicle, and escaping lawful custody. He has been remanded in custody.

* Garry Duckworth, 29, of Whitebirk Road, Blackburn, has been charged with burglary of a dwelling and five counts of attempted burglary. He has been released on bail.

Both men are scheduled to appear at Preston Crown Court on April 2nd, 2025.
The investigation, conducted under the banner of “Operation Defender” (OpDefender), aimed to address the spike in property crimes reported in the affected neighborhoods.

Lancashire Police have not released further details about the specific incidents but have confirmed that the charges relate to the reported burglaries and attempted burglaries within the specified timeframe.
