A murder investigation is underway following a fatal shooting in Wolverhampton on Tuesday afternoon.
A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene on Eastfield Grove.
West Midlands Police were called to the residential street shortly after 3:20 PM on March 4th, following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim, but despite their efforts, he could not be saved.
“We’ve launched a murder investigation after a man was shot dead in Wolverhampton this afternoon,” stated a spokesperson for West Midlands Police.
“We were called to Eastfield Grove just after 3.20pm today. A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene.”
The investigation is in its early stages, and police are urging the public to avoid the area while they conduct their inquiries. Road closures remain in place.
Authorities believe the attack was targeted. High-visibility patrols have been deployed in the area to provide reassurance and support to the local community.
West Midlands Police are appealing for witnesses and are urging anyone with information, mobile phone footage, doorbell camera recordings, or dashcam footage to come forward.
