Lancaster City Centre businesses are on edge following a series of burglaries over the past week, prompting a strong response from local police.
Officers have released an urgent appeal for information, including photographs of a suspect, as they work to apprehend the individual responsible.
“We are aware there has been a large number of burglaries to local businesses over the last week and we are actively trying to identify and locate the person responsible as soon as possible,” stated a spokesperson for Lancaster Police.
“A number of individuals have already been put forward and these people have been investigated.”
The recent spate of break-ins has caused significant concern among business owners, with many reporting financial losses and damage to their premises.
Police are urging businesses to remain vigilant and take extra security precautions.
“We would like to ask for your continued support whilst we continue to investigate these crimes so that we can prevent this male in the photographs from burgling more of our local businesses,” the spokesperson added.
Officers have emphasised the importance of community involvement in their investigation. They are asking anyone who has witnessed suspicious activity or has information that could assist in identifying the suspect to come forward.
