Five-Year-Old Girl Seriously Injured in St Helens Collision

A five-year-old girl is receiving hospital treatment after being involved in a collision with a car in St Helens yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, March 4th.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 PM on Clock Face Road, at the junction of Leach Lane. The girl was struck by a black Nissan car.

Merseyside Police have confirmed that the child sustained serious injuries, although they are not believed to be life-threatening. She is currently in hospital receiving necessary medical care.

The driver of the Nissan car stopped at the scene and is cooperating with police investigations.

Officers are now appealing to the public for any information that could assist in determining the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Inspector Ian Cowell of the Roads Policing Unit said, “We are appealing to people who saw the collision on Clock Face Road, at the junction of Leach Lane, to please get in touch so we can understand what happened.

This collision took place at a busy time when parents would have been picking up their child from school. In addition, I would ask homeowners and motorists passing by to check their CCTV, doorbell and dashcam footage to see if the incident was captured on it. Any help we receive, no matter how insignificant it may seem, can assist our investigation.”
