Skelmersdale firefighters swiftly tackled a kitchen fire in a terraced property on Beechtrees, Digmoor, on Monday afternoon.

At 14:09, two fire engines from Skelmersdale rushed to the scene following reports of a fire within the kitchen of a residential property.

Crews, equipped with breathing apparatus, entered the building and utilized a hose reel to extinguish the flames.

Firefighters employed a door ram to gain access and a thermal imaging camera to pinpoint hotspots, ensuring the fire was completely extinguished.

A positive pressure ventilation unit was also used to clear smoke from the property.

During the incident, firefighters rescued a pet from the property and administered oxygen, ensuring its well-being.

The crews remained at the scene for approximately 55 minutes, ensuring the area was safe.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
