The family of Cathy Doherty has released a heartfelt tribute following her tragic death, as Merseyside Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her passing.
“We are all devastated by the loss of our sister Cathy,” the family said in a statement released through Merseyside Police. “She was fun loving, kind and considerate. She will be greatly missed by all her family. Please can we ask that you respect our privacy at this traumatic time.”
Police were called to a property on Meols Cop Road at approximately 6:03 pm, where they found the body of Ms. Doherty, a woman in her 50s. Her death is currently being treated as “unexplained,” and inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Merseyside Police have confirmed that two men have been arrested in connection with the investigation. A 48-year-old man from Kirkdale and a 60-year-old man from Ainsdale were arrested on suspicion of murder.
They have since been conditionally bailed pending further enquiries.
Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that may assist their investigation.
