A routine road rage incident in Birmingham escalated dramatically yesterday, leading to the seizure of a firearm and the arrest of four men.

West Midlands Police responded to reports of two men, one brandishing a knife, threatening another driver on Lozells Road just before 5 pm.

The suspects fled the scene, but their escape was short-lived. Utilizing cutting-edge drone technology, officers tracked a vehicle to an address on Westhorp Grove.

Firearms officers swiftly moved in, arresting two men, aged 19 and 26, on suspicion of affray and making threats with a blade in a public place.

The police’s aerial eye in the sky didn’t stop there. Further suspicious activity was spotted in the vicinity, leading to a search of a nearby garden. The discovery? A viable firearm and ammunition.

This resulted in the arrest of two more men, aged 27 and 26, on suspicion of possessing a firearm and ammunition.

All four men are currently in custody as detectives continue their investigations.

This operation is a stark reminder of West Midlands Police’s ongoing commitment to “Operation Target,” their drive to remove illegal firearms from the streets and keep communities safe.
