Firefighters extinguished a fire within an apartment and made the scene safe
A man has been arrested following a disturbance that forced residents to be evacuated from their homes in Clitheore on Sunday morning.
In a statement released today, Lancashire Police said:
“Some of you may be aware of an incident which took place on Piccadilly Close in Clitheroe this morning. Police, Fire and Ambulance attended to a report of a male causing a disturbance.
Residents were evacuated from their homes and the fire service extinguished a fire within an apartment. A male adult was arrested. The suspect has been taken into police custody and will receive a mental health assessment as part of the custody process.
The fire service ensured that the apartment block was safe to return to and residents are now back in their homes.
An investigation involving CID is taking place and a full Community Impact Assessment is being drafted.”
