Fulwood Driver Dies in Single-Vehicle Collision

A driver has tragically died following a single-vehicle collision in Fulwood this morning, Saturday, March 2nd, 2025.

Emergency services were called to Woodplumpton Road at 8:40 am after reports of a car colliding with a bollard outside the Spar convenience store at the junction with Cadley Causeway.

Upon arrival, officers found the driver unresponsive at the scene. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was sadly pronounced dead shortly after being taken to hospital.

Lancashire Police have expressed their condolences to the man’s family, who are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers.

In a statement released today, Lancashire Police said:

“First and foremost our thoughts are with the family of the man involved in the collision this morning,” said DS Matt Davidson from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit. “They are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers.”

Cadley Causeway was closed for approximately four hours, while investigators conducted a thorough examination of the scene.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and information. DS Davidson added, “I am now asking for any witnesses who have not been spoken to by officers at the scene to make contact with us. Likewise, anyone who has any CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident is encouraged to come forward to assist us investigate what happened.”
