A man in his 40s remains in hospital receiving treatment after being stabbed in the leg
A man has been charged with multiple offences, including section 18 assault after a security guard was stabbed in Preston City Centre on Wednesday afternoon.
Police descended on Carlisle Street shortly before 1pm to reports of an assault on arrival found the man with stab wounds to his leg. He was rushed to hospital with police describing his condition as very poorly.
A cordon remained in place throughout the rest of the day whilst investigations were carried out.
Another scene in Preston was put in place on Grimshaw Street as part of the investigation.

In an update posted today, Preston Police said:
“We have charged a man following a stabbing in Preston city centre this week.
At 12.37pm on Wednesday, we were called to B&M Bargains in Carlisle Street, to reports of an assault.
Our officers attended and found that a man in his 40s had suffered a stab wound to his leg. He was taken to hospital.
A 27-year-old man was arrested in Preston a short time later.

Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Andrzej Mikulski, 27, of no fixed address, has been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent.
He’s further charged with an offence of robbery at the Market offices in Earl Street, Preston, two offences of attempted robbery at stores in Preston, three offences of possessing a knife/bladed article in a public place, two offences of theft from shops, and one offence of theft of a pedal cycle.
Mikulski has been remanded in custody to appear at Preston Magistrates Court today.”
