A road closure remained in place on Sunday morning following a collision in the early hours.
Whitegate Drive in the town was closed following a collision believed to involve an electric scooter.
It is currently unknown if anyone was injured during the collision, and Lancashire Police have been approached for further details.
A spokesperson for the force said in a social media post earlier:
“We want to update you and let you know that Whitegate Drive, junction with Forest Gate, Mere Road and Hornby Road is currently closed due to a road traffic collision.
We anticipate that the road will be closed for some time whilst we assess the situation.
We’ll keep tabs on what’s happening and we’ll update you here once we know more. As always, thank you for your patience and stay safe if you’re out and about today.”
