Second teenager charged in connection with Boardsley Green stabbing

A second teenager has been charged following the stabbing of a 16-year-old boy in Boardsley Green last weekend.

In an update posted today, West Midlands Police said:

“We have charged a second teenager after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in Bordesley Green on Saturday (15 February).

The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon, and attempted robbery.

He was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning (19 February) following enquiries by our Major Crime Unit. 

He was charged to appear before Birmingham Youth Court yesterday.

He is the second teenager charged over this incident. A 16 year old boy was charged on Tuesday (18 February) also with wounding with intent, possession of an attempted weapon, and attempted robbery.

The 16-year-old who was hurt was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He is currently in a stable condition.”
