Staffordshire Police have warned parents to ensure they have the correct child restraints in place to protect children from becoming seriously injured in a collision.

A recent collision on the M6 could of been a lot worse, saying the force after a vehicle involved in the crash saw a girl aged 6 who wasn’t restrained in a child seat bang her head. Luckily, no serious injuries were sustained, added Staffordshire Police.

A spokesperson for the force said:

“Staffordshire Road Crime Team attended a three-vehicle collision on the M6 Southbound, Keele recently.

An occupant from one of the vehicles involved had a 6 year-old with no car seat who unfortunately banged their head as a result of the collision.

Children under 135cm tall, or under the age of 12, are required to use suitable child restraints when travelling in a vehicle. (Luckily there were no serious injuries here.)”
