The road is expected to be closed for a short while say Lancashire Police
Emergency services are currently on scene and a road closure is in place in Blackpool this afternoon following a road traffic collision.
The collision happened on Talbot Road in the seaside town shortly before 4pm and is reported to involve two cars. Motorists are being advised to find alternative routes and avoid the area where possible.
It is unclear at this stage if any injuries have been sustained following this collision.
In a social media post, Blackpool Police said:
“We want to update you and let you know that Talbot Road is currently closed between the junctions of Devonshire Road and Coleridge Road due to a road traffic collision.
We anticipate that the road will be closed for a short amount of time, whilst we clear the road.
In the meantime, we’d recommend looking for an alternative route and driving carefully, leaving plenty of extra time to get to your destination.
We’ll keep tabs on what’s happening, and we’ll update you here once the road is open. As always, thank you for your patience and stay safe if you’re out and about today.”
