An appeal for members of the public who helped the officer have been made for them to come forward
Police are appealing for witnesses after a police officer was assaulted on Hall Avenue, Bradford
In a social media appeal, West Yorkshire Police said:
“Steerside officers have come across a Mercedes Sprinter which failed to stop for officers at around 10.45pm on 8 February.
The driver and the passenger of the vehicle then abandoned the vehicle on Hall Avenue, an officer has run after them, catching one of them, who then assaults the police officer.
The police officer suffered minor injuries.
Two members of the public a man and woman have helped the police officer.
Bradford District Investigation Team are keen to speak to these people as witnesses.
A 40 year old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker, he’s been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.”
