‘Let’s settle this beef in the ring admin to admin’
Ongoing beef between two Blackpool media outlets continues on social media after one insinuates that the other published ‘fake news’.
Blackpool 999s a media group on Facebook who claim to be the fastest growing news outlet in Blackpool have ammassed over thirty thousand followers in the short space of time that they have been up and running and have accused Blackpool Gazette a daily newspaper established since 1873 of publishing a story saying they have published ‘fake news’ following a recent incident in Blackpool town centres clubbing scene.
Officers from Lancashire Police confirmed they attended reports of an assault just after 3am on Sunday morning on Queen Street, when officers attended, the incident was more of a verbal argument between two parties and no injuries were reported wrote the Blackpool Gazette.
An eye witness who claims to have seen the altercation reported it being a fight involving two groups and someone getting their head stamped on and knocked out, which is the information published by Blackpool 999s.
According to the Blackpool Gazette in an article published on Monday, their leading headline was ‘rumours posted on a local Facebook news page, claimed a man was kicked in the head and seriously injured in a “street fight.”with a tagline of, ‘Police dismiss “fake news” about assault outside walkabout bar ‘ what really happened.”

On a social media post made earlier, Blackpool 999s wrote:
“Stay mad boo, let’s settle this beef in the ring admin to admin”

Followers were quick to take to the comments section with one saying, “If the Gazette treat the fight like they do their reporting, they’ll turn up 4 days after it happened, acting like they won anyway.”
Another said, “just let all the beef hang out in the ring.”
We approached both Blackpool 999s and Blackpool Gazette but did not get a response from them in time for publication.
