Police Appeal for woman who helped victim of sexual assault on a no607 bus in Bolton to come forward

Any further witnesses to the incident are also urged to come forward

Detectives investigating the sexual assault against a woman on board a bus are appealing for a woman who helped the victim to come forward.

The incident is alleged to have taken place on the number 607 bus shortly after it left Bolton Interchange bus station back in Januaury.

In an appeal made today, Greater Manchester Police said:

“On Wednesday 22 January, at around 7:15am, a woman got on the 607 bus at Bolton Interchange. At the second stop, a man and another woman also boarded the bus.

It’s believed that the man sat next to the first woman before he sexually assaulted her.

Thankfully, the second woman witnessed the incident and interjected, before helping the victim exit the bus.

Police are now appealing for the woman who assisted the victim and anyone else who may have witnessed the incident to come forward, any information you have may assist with the progression of the investigation.”
