The power is expected to be switched off around tea time for many in Buckshaw area of Chorley on Friday
Many homes will be without power on Friday evening whilst engineers work to fix damage to its network.
Electricity North West have said that damage caused to the network by a third party is the cause of the power cut to many homes in the PR7 area and will work as fast as possible to minimise any disruption caused.
In a social media post, Electricity North West said:
“Unfortunately due to 3rd party damage to our network, we are having to turn the power off in the PR7 area, Buckshaw Village.
This will allow our engineers to work safely on the cable. We expect the power to go off at 17:15.
We will keep it as short as possible whilst we inspect the damage, and repairs will continue to restore customers affected early today.”
