Car exits M65 slip road and lands on centre of roundabout in Darwen

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Wednesday afternoon

Tailbacks we’re caused as a result of the collision, which is thought to have involved one vehicle coming off the M65 at Junction 4 for Darwen Services near Lower Darwen at around 12pm according to an eye witness.

Footage from the scene shows the vehicle lodged in a bush with members of the public offering assistance.

Lancashire Police and North West Ambulance Service attended the scene. A road block was put in place for a short time whilst recovery took place.

A motorist travelling in the area said on social media:

“We passed at 2pm,car was being loaded up onto a rescue truck. Car was in a real mess. It was a write-off.

Another said: ” How on earth did they manage that”?

It is unknown how many occupants were in the car, and no serious injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said this was a minor injury collision.
