An investigation is now underway into the unexplained death
A man in his 60s was recovered from the River Ribble close to Avenham Park on Sunday afternoon confirm Police.
An investigation into the death is underway with Lancashire Police treating the death as unexplained.
A cordon was put in place whilst forensics carried out their investigations.
A spokesperson for the force said:
“We were called at 1.26pm on Sunday (February 9) to The Boulevard, Preston, to a report that a body had been found in the river.
The emergency services attended, and very sadly the body of a man in his 60s was found. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is being treated as unexplained and our enquiries are continuing.”
