The road is currently closed and will be for some time say police
Emergency services are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision on key Blackburn road this morning.
Accrington Road at the junction with whitebirk Road is closed whilst emergency services deal with the collision.
This is between a car and a motorbike shortly before 8am. The rider suffered a leg injury and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Motorists are being advised to find alternative routes.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said:
“We want to update you and let you know that Accrington Road, Blackburn is currently closed at the junction of Whitebirk Road due to a road traffic collision.
“We anticipate that the road will be closed for some time, whilst we assess the situation.
In the meantime, we’d recommend avoiding the area and driving carefully, leaving plenty of extra time to get to your destination.
“We’ll keep tabs on what’s happening and we’ll update you here once the road is open. As always, thank you for your patience and stay safe if you’re out and about today.
