A 29-year-old man also arrested in connection with the incident was released on police bail
Officers responded to reports a man had suffered a stab wound to the leg back on 3rd February in the Kirkland Road area of Wigton shortly after 2am.
On arrival they found a man with a significant injury to his leg. He was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.
In an update posted today, Cumbria Police said:
“A man has been charged following a report of a man having suffered a significant leg injury as a result of an assault, believed to have occurred in the vicinity of Kirkland Road, Wigton.
The incident occurred on 3 February at around 2:15am.
Louie Holmes, 30, of no fixed address was charged with section 18 – wounding with intent and possession of a sharp pointed article in a public place.
He is to appear at North and West Cumbria Magistrates today (Feb 10)
A man aged 27 from Aspatria remains on police bail.
The injured man was taken to hospital with an injury consistent with a stab wound. He has been released from hospital.”
