Weapons and vehicles were used in the disorder on Wednesday afternoon
Detectives investigating the violent disorder have charged four more men, bringing the total to six following their investigation into the incident that happened last Wednesday.
A video circulating online showed the brutality of the incident with men armed with weapons attacking each other in broad daylight.
In an update posted today, West Yorkshire Police said:
“Four more men appeared before magistrates on Saturday after being charged following a violent disorder incident in Halifax.
Calderdale CID is continuing to investigate the Wednesday February 5th disorder in Mile Cross Road and appeal for witnesses.
Detectives are continuing to urge the public to come forwards with information and advised that anyone who wishes to remain anonymous can speak with the independent Crimestoppers charity.
Sohrab Zeb, aged 19 of Westbury Place, has been charged with violent disorder, possession of offensive weapon in a public place and assault causing actual bodily harm.
Fida Hussain, aged 55, of Thomas Street has been charged with violent disorder, possession of offensive weapon in a public place and assault causing actual bodily harm.
Zeb Ahmad, aged 41, of Westbury Place, has been charged with violent disorder, possession of offensive weapon in a public place and assault causing actual bodily harm.
Nohaze Afzal, aged 41, of Gibbet Street has been charged with violent disorder, possession of offensive weapon in a public place.
All four men have been remanded in custody to appear at court at a later date.
Six people have now been charged in relation to the incident which took place at about 3.41pm on Wednesday.
Sohaib Tahir, aged 36, of Westbury Place, Halifax, and Uzair Mahmood, aged 24, of Rhondda Place, Halifax, both appeared before Leeds Magistrate’s Court on Friday, jointly charged with violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon.
Mahmood was bailed and Tahir was remanded into custody and are both due to appear before Leeds Crown Court on Friday 7th March.
Detective Inspector Rob Stevens of Calderdale CID said:
“The investigation into this disorder continues to progress and we also continue to urge anyone out there who still may be able to assist with the investigation to please come forward.”
