A third car thought to of been in the area at the time of the collision left the scene say Police
Police in Blackburn are investigating a collision involving three cars on Old Preston Road last night, Friday 7th February, and have launched an appeal for witnesses.
The collision happened close to the Euro Garage petrol station shortly before 10 pm before emergency services were alerted and attended the crash. The road was closed for a number of hours whilst investigations continued.
It reopened around 4am on saturday morning.
In a statement released today, Lancashire Police said:
“We are appealing for witnesses, footage and information after a road traffic collision in Blackburn last night.
The emergency services were called at 10pm yesterday to Preston Old Road, Blackburn, to a report of a collision near to the Euro garage.
When our officers attended, they found that two cars had been in collision.
A third car in the area at the time of the collision, believed to be a dark coloured BMW saloon, left the scene.
Thankfully, no one was seriously injured in the collision.
A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion on dangerous driving and driving with excess alcohol. He is currently in custody.”
