All three lanes were being held on Friday night between J31 and J32 northbound
Delays are expected on the M6 on Friday night due to what is believed to be a road traffic collision.
The accident happened on the northbound carriageway between Junction 31A for (Longridge) and Junction 32 for M55/A6 Broughton Interchange shortly after 6pm.
It is currently unknown how many vehicles were involved and the nature of any injuries or damage caused.
Traffic is currently backed up past Junction 31 for A59 Preston New Road (Samlesbury). Delays of around 27 minutes are expected.
AA Live Traffic: “Severe delays of 27 minutes on M6 Northbound between J31 A59 Preston New Road (Samlesbury) and J32 M55 (Broughton Interchange). Average speed five mph.”

A social media contributor said it looked to be multiple vehicles involved when passing on the opposite carriageway. They looked like they have been moved to the hard shoulder.
Another said, “Traffic is all moving again now.
Lane one remains closed with lane three and four reopened. Residual traffic expected.
