Two men arrested on suspicion of robbery and section 18 assault say Police

An investigation is underway after a taxi driver was knifed in the arm on a residential street in Buckshaw Village on Wednesday night.

Emergency services descended on Holland House Way in the village to reports of a robbery,  on arrival, they found a taxi driver with injuries. He was taken to hospital for treatment to his arm.

During the incident the taxi collided with stationary cars say the force.

A cordon remained in place on Thursday morning with two police cars situated outside residential properties whilst investigations were carried out.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said:

“We were called at 9.49pm yesterday to Holland House Way, Buckshaw Village, to a report of robbery.

Our officers attended and found that a taxi driver had been threatened, assaulted and stabbed in the arm.

During the assault, the taxi collided with a stationary car.

Two men, aged 37 and 45, were arrested nearby on suspicion of robbery and Section 18 grievous bodily harm. They are currently in custody.

A 31-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a police officer and assisting offenders. She is in custody.
