Car engulfed in flames in a Blackpool Park

Firefighters spent two hours at the scene on Wednesday night

Firefighters we’re called to Boundary Park on Wednesday night, where they found a car engulfed in flames.

Two fire engines from Blackpool attended the fire at the park situated on Garstang Road West in Blackpool shortly before 9:30pm.

Smoke was sent billowing into the skies as shocked residents took to social media to express their concerns.

Posting on local Facebook Community Group, Grange Park Gossip, one commenter said:

“Wow, what is wrong with people? This is absolutely disgusting. I hope no one was injured. They added, “No wonder I could here a horn beeping.”

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service said:

“At 21:28 on the 5th February 2025, two fire engines from Blackpool attended a vehicle fire on Garstang Road West, Blackpool.

Firefighters used two hose reel jets and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for two hours.”

The make and model of the car is unknown, and no further details about the incident have been released.
