Traffic was diverted away from the area whilst investigations were carried out

A key Preston City Centre Road was closed on Tuesday night following the accident.

New Hall Lane was blocked off by police whilst they carried out their investigations into what they described as a minor injury collision between a car and a pedestrian.

The section of the road outside the Travelodge hotel between the Texaco garage and Club 3000 Bingo remained closed and was the area of focus for investigators.

The road was closed from around 5pm and reopened at just before 8pm.

In a social media post, Preston Police advised of the road closure, and motorists were advised to find alternative routes and avoid the area.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said:

“This was a minor injury collision between a pedestrian and a car. We got the call at 5pm yesterday.”
