It was reported that a girl had been approached by a man before he tried to drag her to his car last month

Officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries since receiving a report of an attempt abduction of a 10-year-old girl on Court Park Road in Orchard Park, Hull, on Friday 31 January.

Following a thorough investigation, we are now able to confirm that no offences have been committed.

Detective Inspector Jeffs from our Protecting Vulnerable People Unit said: “Since we received the report on Friday, specialist officers have been following extensive lines of enquiry in and around the area, including reviewing CCTV footage, conducting house to house enquiries, and speaking to the local schools.

“After a thorough investigation, and on detailed review and analysis of CCTV that covered the area where the incident was reported to have occurred, I would like to reassure the local community there is no evidence of a man matching the description and no evidence of a criminal offence having been committed.

“I would also like to thank those who responded to the previous report, and for their ongoing support.

“Whilst there are no ongoing concerns arising from this report, if anyone does have any local concerns, please speak to our officers when you see them out and about or call our non-emergency number 101.”
