A Liverpool man has been jailed after admitting possession of indecent images of children.
Merseyside Police received information linking Michael Turner with uploading indecent images.
Turner, 37, of no fixed abode, but formerly of Anfield, was arrested at his home and a number of electronic devices were seized.
He appeared in court on 15 January where he pleaded guilty to 34 counts of making indecent image of children Cat A, 34 of Cat B, eight of Cat C and possessing 59 images and two videos.
He was sentenced to nine months imprisonment when he appeared at Liverpool Crown Court today, Tuesday 4 February.
Detective Constable Nicola Gray said: “Merseyside Police takes the possession and distribution of indecent images extremely seriously.
“Every single indecent image shared involves the abuse of children, and the distribution of such vile images feeds demand leading to more children becoming victims.
“We have specialist officers within the Online Child Abuse Investigations team who are dedicated to investigating these crimes, bringing those responsible before the courts and ultimately protecting further vulnerable young people from unimaginable suffering.
“We will continue proactively targeting those people in our community who contribute to the cycle of abuse by making or possessing indecent images and I would encourage anyone with concerns or information to get in contact with us. We always act on all the information we receive.”
