Investigation Launched following death of woman in Rock Ferry

Three people arrested earlier have been released on bail pending further enquiries

An investigation has been launched in Merseyside following the death of a woman found inside a property in Rock Ferry.

In a statement released today, Merseyside Police said:

“We can confirm that an investigation is underway following the unexplained death of a woman in Rock Ferry on Wednesday 29 January.

At around 5.50pm, we received a report from North West Ambulance Service that a 34 year-old woman had been found dead inside a home on Rock Lane West.

It is believed the woman had been subjected to an assault at around midday the previous day, Tuesday 28 January, in the New Ferry area and was seen injured near to the Cleveland Arms pub. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of what happened.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained and the cause of death has been withheld pending further enquiries.

A 33-year-old man from Rock Ferry has been arrested on suspicion of murder and section 18 wounding with intent, a 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and a 62-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

All three have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Phil Ryan said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation and are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.
