Manhunt following attempted abduction of girl, 10 in Hull

Thankfully the girl was physically unharmed and was able to flee the area and sought safety.

Detectives are looking for a man after a girl aged 10 reports she was grabbed on her way to school in Hull.

In a social media post on Friday, Humberside Police said:

“Officers are in and around the area of Court Park Road, Hull conducting lines of enquiry following reports of an attempt abduction at 9.50am this morning (Friday 31 January).

It is reported that a 10-year-old girl was walking to school along Court Park Road on Orchard Park when she was approached by a man who began to ask her name and where she lived.

The girl ignored the man and continued to walk before he reportedly grabbed her arm and attempted to pull her towards his car.

Thankfully the girl was physically unharmed and was able to flee the area and sought safety.

Detective Inspector Mark Skelton said: “I understand incidents of this nature will frighten parents and the local community, and I would like to offer my reassurance that we always treat this type of report incredibly seriously.

“Since we received the report, we have been conducting house to house enquiries in the area as well as reviewing CCTV.

“The man has been described as black, approximately 5ft 8inches of a muscular build and believed to be in his 30s. He is thought to have been wearing an orange Nike t-shirt with black shorts and black trainers. He also had a diamond stud in his ear and was wearing a gold necklace.

“Local residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as extensive enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances around the incidents. I urge anyone with any concerns or information to please speak to them.”

“I would appeal to anyone with information that may assist with our enquiries or has dashcam or CCTV footage from the area around the time the incidents occurred, to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference 25*13884.”
